It’s almost time for testing at TKS Martial Arts. Promotion testing will be held on August 29th. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the beginning of testing, depending on your respective belt color.
White/Yellow: 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Green/Blue/Red: 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Black: 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm
All students must wear their V-Neck Uniforms and return their testing forms before testing day, if possible.
All Asst. Black and Black Belts must attend a mandatory Black Belt Degree Testing Seminar on Friday, August 22nd from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm. Due to interference with the class schedule, all students planning to attend the “Teen/Adult” Class on August 22nd at 6:30 pm, must attend the “All Belt” Class at 5:45 pm instead.
It’s finally August, and testing is almost here. But before testing, there is Breaking Day. We will have 4 dates available for Breaking Day: August 12th , August 15th , August 18th , and August 21st. We encourage everyone to participate as it familiarizes student with their breaking technique, and prepares them for testing.
On Friday, August 1st, we will be hosting our first ever TKS Movie Night! Students may dress in pajamas and bring any friend of their choice, as we engage in board games, snacks, and of course, a movie! TKS Movie Night will begin at 7:30 pm, and will come to an end at around 10:00 pm. All parents should arrive on time to pick up their children, and we hope to see everyone at TKS Movie Night!
During the 4th of July weekend, 7 TKS Martial Arts students traveled to San Jose to compete in the 2014 Junior Olympics. Each student qualified for the tournament by competing and placing in either poomsae, sparring, or both, at qualifier competitions earlier in the year. All competitors underwent strenuous training year round, but unfortunately, none were able to bring home any medals. However, their hard work and commitment did not go to waste, as competition training is a process. We are proud of our TKS Martial Arts members for competing in such a prestigious tournament, and congratulate them for an outstanding competition season. With this season behind us, we now look towards the future as we hope to do even better next season.
This is a schedule notice for all TKS Martial Arts students and parents. TKS Martial Arts will be closed on Friday, July 4 for Independence Day. All classes will resume as scheduled after the long weekend on Monday, July 7. We hope everyone enjoys the long weekend filled with plenty of food and fireworks!
