TKS Martial Arts

The new term for both special classes, Olympic-Style Sparring and World Class Poomsae, will begin on Monday, August 1, 2016. These classes offer highly specialized training for competitive aspects of taekwondo. Students that are interested in joining at the Beginner Level must be at least Yellow Belt, and students interested in joining at the Advanced Level must be at least Red Belt. If you are interested in signing up, please speak with Master Lee or an Instructor for more information. All applications must be submitted by Monday, August 1, 2016.

Last week, 9 students went to Richmond, Virginia to compete in the 2016 National Championship. 6 of those students returned home National Champions, and we would like to congratulate the following students:

Eunice Park (Bronze in Sparring, Bronze in Poomsae)

Celeste Paik (Bronze in Sparring, Gold in Poomsae)

Innie Hwang (Silver in Sparring, Gold in Poomsae)

Justin Lee (Gold in Sparring)

Congratulations to all our students that worked hard all year and competed in the tournament. We are extremely proud to bring home an outstanding total of 10 medals! Thank you for all your hard work and congratulations on an outstanding and very well deserved accomplishment!

Yet another successful Promotion Testing in the books, and we would like to thank all those who attended the event and congratulations to all the students who participated!

Next week, 9 students will travel to West Virginia and compete in Nationals. These students have been training extremely hard all year long and we would like to wish them all the best of luck!

And lastly, TKS will be closed on Monday, July 4th. Enjoy the long weekend and we will see you all on Tuesday!

Blue : 4:00 pm ~ 5:00 pm

Red : 5:00 pm ~ 6:00 pm

Black (Credit Testing) : 7:00 pm ~ 8:30 pm

It’s almost time for testing at TKS Martial Arts. Promotion testing will be held on March 17th and 18th. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the beginning of testing, depending on your respective belt color.

Thursday, March 17

White/Green: 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm

Yellow/Blue/: 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm

Friday, March 18

All Belt( Adult Only): 9:00 am – 10:00 am

Red/Black: 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm

All students must wear their V-Neck Uniforms and return their testing forms before testing day, if possible.

Testing is almost here. But before testing, there is Breaking Day. We will have 4 dates available for Breaking Day: March 7th, 8th ,10th ,11th. We encourage everyone to participate as it familiarizes student with their breaking technique, and prepares them for testing.

Attention all TKS students and parents. There will be no class this upcoming Monday, January 18th for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. All classes will resume as scheduled the following Tuesday, January 19th. Thank you and enjoy the 3 day weekend

This Friday, we will be hosting our annual Christmas Promotional Belt Test and Banquet at the Brea Community Center. Our black belt students will be performing a demonstration for everyone following the test. In order to enter the center, please bring your tickets and feel free to bring anyone, from friends to family. We hope to see you there.

We will be closed on November 26-27 for Thanksgiving. Class will begin the following Monday, December 1. Enjoy spending time with family during the Thanksgiving Break
